The first heat-trying to get missiles would just issue in the direction of the concentrate on and chase it; this was inefficient. More recent missiles are smarter and utilize the gimballed seeker head coupled with what is referred to as proportional advice so as to steer clear of oscillation also to fly an effective intercept route.
